Museum Association of New York (MANY)

Chartered in 1962, the Museum Association of New York is a service organization that works on behalf of all museums in the state to strengthen organizational capacity and give voice to the field's needs.  Our programs help museums shape their futures in imaginative and innovative ways.  MANY brings New York's museum community together to promote museums as engines of economic development and key tourist destinations; speak out as a strong, unified statewide voice on museum-related issues;  increase public understanding and support for museums; address state legislative and public policy initiatives; provide professional support and training to museum staffs and volunteers; and foster organizational development.  Services include advocacy activities and training, a biennial salary and benefits survey (the largest of its type in the US), meetings and training opportunities, monthly newsletter, insurance program, and referrals.

 

New England Museum Association (NEMA)

Oklahoma Museums Association (OMA)

U.S. Federation of Friends of Museums (USFFM)

The mission of the U.S. Federation of Friends of Museums is to encourage volunteer efforts for museums and to facilitate an exchange of information among Friends organizations, both nationally and internationally.  The Federation encompasses individuals and groups of Friends and volunteers and serves as the communications link between and among museum associations.  The USFFM is an active member of the World Federation of Friends of Museums (WFFM).

Virginia Association of Museums (VAM)

Since its establishment as a non-profit organization in 1968, the Virginia Association of Museums has grown to become one of the largest state museum associations in the country. With over 700 members, VAM brings together the individuals and institutions of our Virginia museum community to further education and training, foster development, and provide support for museums and their staff. With VAM, cultural and historical sites have a forum to voice their common concerns and share ideas so that they may learn from each other and grow stronger in the process.

World Federation of Friends of Museums (WFFM)

The World Federation of Friends of Museums (WFFM/FMAM) is an international nonprofit, nongovernmental organization that unites and supports all Friends of museums around the world.  Legally constituted in Belgium in 1975, WFFM brings together a growing number of Friends and volunteers from all over the world, who understand the importance of combining their efforts in the conservation of mankind's cultural heritage.   Its members, 17 national federations and 28 associations in 34 different countries, participate in the international, national, and regional activities of the organization, currently representing nearly two million individuals.
